What’s something you don’t need just days before your first half marathon? Food poisoning.

Seriously, someone shoot me now.

I hope all of your weeks are going better than mine šŸ™‚

  1. You have probably been told…Hydrate as much as possible! Drink, drink, drink some more. Not knowing your training plan leading up to this moment. I’ll toss you these words of encouragement- This is a good thing. The rest is something your body needs days before your big event. The “purge” so to speak is a cleansing of sorts (try to laugh here). Listen to your body now until the time of the race and make the right decision to run or not. Food poisoning is no joke!
Wish you the best and keep your spirits up! This minor bit of adversity may help you more than you think…

  2. That’s the spirit! Grandma always said “flat Ginger Ale and Saltine crackers to ease the tummy”.
You’ll get better and run the best “first” marathon you have ever competed in. (Hmm how many first marathons are there?)
Anyways rest up and take it easy!

  3. OH MY!!!!!!!!! are you ok?!?!?!?? I hope you feel better soon, I’ve never had food poisoning. but I’ve heard it’s horrible šŸ˜¦ feel better xoxoxoxox

    • Yeah, this was by far the worst food poisoning I’ve ever had. I had a mild case after a wedding a few years ago but nothing like this.

Almost 24 hours later and I am starting to feel somewhat human again. I might be able to eat some broth tonight šŸ™‚

  4. Totally sucktastic!! šŸ˜¦ I’m hoping that you feel better and that if you miss your race, that there’s another one around the corner that you can sign up for. I ran my marathon with an injury because I was so annoyed that I trained then got injured. Not a good idea. Listen to your body and feel better!
